Xavier University of Louisiana is a 4-year private institution founded in 1925. XULA offers certificates, Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor's degrees. The student population is 3,383 (2,517 undergraduate). The student to faculty ratio is 13 to 1. XULA is NAIA Division I (RRAC Conference) participating in men's baseball, basketball, cross country, indoor and outdoor track, tennis, competitive cheer (coed) and women's basketball, cross country, indoor and outdoor track, softball, tennis, and volleyball.

The scholarship review process gives the strongest consideration to the student’s academic record. Students who have submitted a completed admissions application by January 31 will be given priority consideration for scholarships.
